1 John 1:5-10

  • God is light, so you can’t claim salvation while walking in darkness.
  • The blood of Jesus cleanses the believer from all sin.
  • If you say you have no sin, you’re deceiving yourself.
  • If you confess your sin, God will forgive and cleanse you from all unrighteousness.
  • If you deny you have sinned, you’re calling God a liar.

Applying the Text

  • Have you admitted your sinfulness and need for God’s mercy?
  • Have you believed the gospel?
  • Do you continue to believe the gospel?
