- God is light, so you can’t claim salvation while walking in darkness.
- The blood of Jesus cleanses the believer from all sin.
- If you say you have no sin, you’re deceiving yourself.
- If you confess your sin, God will forgive and cleanse you from all unrighteousness.
- If you deny you have sinned, you’re calling God a liar.
Applying the Text
- Have you admitted your sinfulness and need for God’s mercy?
- Have you believed the gospel?
- Do you continue to believe the gospel?
