BIBLICAL DISCIPLESHIP

The most important decision a person can make in this life is to follow Jesus.  He calls us to follow Him by coming to Him, imitating Him and helping others to follow Him.  We grow as His disciples by practicing biblical spiritual disciplines.  Relying on the unchanging Word of God, we must face the challenges to discipleship presented by our changing culture.  Trusting in His sovereign power and authority, we can be faithful to His command to make disciples of all peoples, baptizing them and teaching them to obey all Jesus has commanded.

Those who would follow Christ must deny themselves, take up their cross and follow Him.

The Sovereign Lord Jesus Christ has instructed disciples to make disciples everywhere, baptizing them and teaching them to obey all His commandments.

Understanding the Text

Call: Follow Me

Pledge: I will make you become fishers of men

Response: They left all to follow Jesus

Applying the Text

  • Have you heard the call to follow Jesus?
  • Are you following Jesus?
  • Are you helping others to follow Jesus?
