- morally just, correct, upright, good
- As a believer, you are righteous “in Christ.”
Justification
- The righteousness of Christ given to the believer by faith for eternity.
Sanctification
- The righteousness of Christ increasingly manifested in the believer here and now.
Glorification
- The righteousness of Christ perfectly manifested in the believer for eternity.
Overcome evil with good
- Immediate context: Manifest righteousness toward those who harm you
- Larger context: Manifest righteousness in the face of the world, the flesh and the Devil
