I got this note from a Missionary friend serving in Guatemala, and I think you’ll find it both heartwarming and true.
———-
I was reminded in SS what a privilege it is to be a Christian and an adopted son in God’s family:
There is a family that got caught in the middle of international and national law changes. Several years of adoption process was almost concluded when it fell through. They could let the child go, they could start over (and almost certainly lose the child), or move to Guatemala for 2 years and then conclude the adoption. So a husband and wife with 6 children left everything behind to come here and adopt a wonderful little boy named Pablo. We’ll be greatly saddened to see this family leave in December.
Gail works with the wife in the library. One of the boys is in my 6th grade class and I get to hug little Pablo just about every Sunday. Isn’t that what being in the family of God means. Someone loved us enough to leave their home behind and come here to take an adopted child back with them. While they’re here we get to enjoy some wonderful fellowship.
Thought you’d like to hear a genuine love story.
