“[Prayer] is a widely misunderstood facet of our spiritual life of God, and problems we have with prayer range very widely. Some have an understanding of God as our heavenly Santa Claus where all we do is ask for things. Others have the idea of ‘name it and claim it’, where prayer is used to say the word of faith that binds God to do whatever we want Him to do.”
The maturing Christian will boast in God, rather than self.
Humble repentance produces harmony and holiness in the church.
Christ’s resurrection has turned human disaster and despair into glorious transformation and eternal hope.
We remember the sacrifice of the Lord by meditating on His death, obeying His commands and celebrating His victory.
We must prepare the way for the Lord’s work in us and through us by turning away from sin and turning toward God.
Pride brings destruction, but humility brings peace and fulfillment.
The truly wise person is a humble, gracious peacemaker.
The tongue has tremendous power to give people a taste of Heaven…. or a taste of Hell.
