Why was Jesus baptized?

  1. To “fulfill all righteousness” thus demonstrating that Jesus was fully approved by God the Father
  2. To identify with sinful humanity, even though He Himself was sinless
  3. To serve as an example for His followers

Principles from the Text

  • Repentance is a change of mind which results in a change of life
  • God will judge the impenitent
  • Jesus was fully approved by God the Father and has identified Himself with sinful humanity

  • Does your life evidence fruit in keeping with repentance?
